This year at the ninth annual Good Neighbor Awards, six amazing winners were given $10,000 each for their charities. Winners are selected based on their depth of impact, demonstration of leadership and initiative, personal contribution of time, and financial and material contributions. Since 2000 the Good Neighbor Awards have recognized 70 extraordinary REALTORS who work daily to make the world and their communities a better place. The 2008 Good Neighbor Awards program sponsors were eNeighborhoods, Homes.com®, Lowe’s and LandAmerica.
Homes.com and eNeighborhoods are both Dominion Enterprises real estate companies. eNeighborhoods, a founding sponsor of the Good Neighbor Awards since 2000, is a premier compiler of home and neighborhood information. eNeighborhoods was represented by Andy Woolley, vice president of enterprise services. Stu Siegel – a founder of both eNeighborhoods and the Good Neighbor Awards – was also honored with an honorary membership to the Good Neighbor Society.
Homes.com is a leading provider of real estate marketing tools and media services, including brand advertising, property listing exposure, website development, search engine marketing and lead generation solutions. Jason Doyle, Vice President of Homes.com congratulated each of the winners as he presented them with their Good Neighbor Award.
“The Good Neighbor Awards ceremony, hearing Lance Armstrong’s story, and meeting all those exceptional people who do so much in their communities…it was a remarkable evening,” said George Salvador, AgentAdvantage vice president and general manager. “The people here tonight are the ones who make the time, who put in the hours, and who go out every day and make their communities better places to live. And in their spare time, they are also top-performing real estate professionals. As part of the Dominion Enterprises family of companies, it’s an honor for AgentAdvantage to attend the awards for this great program.”
The keynote speaker at the REALTORS Conference General Session was Lance Armstrong. More than 7,500 REALTORS received an inspirational lift from Armstrong who knows a thing or two about surviving adversity. Armstrong has dedicated his life from here on out to raising awareness about cancer survival since overcoming testicular cancer. The seven time Tour de France winner spoke movingly to the group of REALTORS about his experience with cancer and why he went public. Lance started the Armstrong Foundation 10 years ago and is as dedicated as ever to his cause.
